Abandoned on a deserted island

In Mrs. A's literacy group we have been focusing on narrative writing. We had to make a plan and then write a story.  I used google slides to create my writing. I think I did well because I finished my story. How would you feel is you were abandoned on a deserted island?

Why NZ kids should be able to vote

                          Why NZ children should be able to vote

Hi, my name is Ahlia and I am going to talk to you about why NZ children should be able to vote. I have 3 reasons which include: children live in our country like everyone else, it would be easier to decide on a winner, and they will learn how to vote for when they are older.

The children live in this country so they should be able to vote and have an opinion about the prime minister and government. Also, it wouldn’t be fair if children didn’t have a government or prime minister that they want. Kids should get a chance to choose the government or prime minister they want.

      

A lot of the time votes are very close or can tie, but if more people vote like children, there will be more opinions so the votes may not be so close. If it is not so close it will be easier to decide on a winner.

It will be a lot easier for kids to vote when they are older because they would know how to do it. Also when you are older like 18 or an adult you have lots of work from University and a job and don’t have time to learn how to vote. But when you are a kid you don’t have a job so you have lots of time to learn how to vote.

In conclusion, I think children should be able to vote because they are part of our society, they can contribute to the amount of votes and will become better voters when they're older.

My Best Friend

The assignments I choose were: Explain how the main character changed throughout the story, what was he/she like in the beginning and what is he/she like now, what caused the changes. the other one was: Write a diary entry in the voice of a character in your book I think I did well because I completed my work. The assignments I choose were:  Write your predictions about the story and tell whether or not they were right, the other one I did was: Describe an interesting or important character in your book. The sources I used were the Hub Site and Slides. I think I did well, can you describe a character in your book.

The Origin of food

In homebas Haoura we have been making the origin of food slides. We had to research our favourite food to find out information about it. The sites I used were google. The food I choose was nachos, I think I have well so far. What is your favourite food? This is work in progress.

My Pepeha

For Teo Reo, we have been learning how to introduce ourselves in maori this is called a pepeha. This is my pepeha. The sites I used were Maori Dictionary and the Hub Site. I think I did well, the part that was the hardest was the part about my little brother.

Magical Mood Board

In the first week of term three in Mrs A's literacy group, I have been doing some can dos. One of them was to create a mood board about your book club book. My book was gangsta granny so I created a mood board about that. A mood board is a group of pictures that relate to something, in this case, a got pictures that related to the book gangsta granny. The site I used to create my mood board was photo joiner.

In Mr Suverlands literacy group we have been making a story web on pour book club book. We had to include a title characters setting and a plot.

Literacy Ako Work Week 1

In literacy in Mr Sutherland's group, we have been creating a new book cover for the book we were reading. We also had to have a blurb and information about the author. There was also a success criterion which was the book cover was eye-catching.

Multiplication Pictures

In Mrs Atkinsons Maths group we have been making multiplication pictures. There are 4 steps to making these. Multiplication pictures are pictures that are split into different sections with numbers inside each section that are answers to times tables.

The Magical Meadow

In Mr Suverlands group we got to make a story of our own choice there were Narratives, Recount, Poetry, Information Reports, Persuasive, Explanation, and Descriptive. I choose Narratives. Before we could start writing we had to write the answers to these questions in our book.

 Structure- Beginning, Problem, Solution, Ending
Language Features- Similes, Metaphors, Alliteration, Personification.
Tense- Past, Present, Future.
Style- Made up.
Purpose- Entertain.
Audience- usually kids sometimes adults.

Wonderful Word Art

Over the term in Mr Bells homebase and in other subjects, we have been making word art. We would be given a topic to make the word art about and create a word art around that topic. We could choose to present it on any DLO ( Digital Learning Object)we wished. The site I used to create my word art was Word Art. If you have made word art what topics did you do.

Ako Work Week 9

Super Supreme SOL!

                        

This is my SOL (Student Organized Learning), all of my SOL work is on this slide. For SOL the teachers choose a topic and some questions about the topic for us to answer. Sometimes the teachers make some questions then we make some of our own questions about the topic to answer. We can choose to use a DLO or make a poster to present our SOL. One of my SOL is on Matariki, do you celebrate Matariki? The sites I used were Te Papa and Google. If you think I could improve on anything please post a comment.

My Inquiry

In korimako, we have been learning about the power of nature. We learned about 4 areas of nature the power of weather, plants, animals, and natural disasters. After we learned about these areas of nature we got to make our own information report on an animal a natural disaster plants or weather.
