On Thursday Marshland school went to jelly park for a school trip. It was a really fun day, and my favorite part was the hydroslides. What is your favourite part in jelly park

Flamingos

 

In Atkinson literacy, we had to fill out a slide about flamingos. After that, we got to make a flamingo animation about what we had learned. I made my animation with Makenzie. Have you learned anything about flamingos after watching this slide?

2d and 3d Shapes

Hi everyone, this is my blog post on 2d and 3d shapes. We did this in korimako Bell maths because we need to know these shapes because we are going to make a geometric city.

Axolotl

 

Hi everyone, in korimako we have been making speeches and presenting them in front of our homebase. My speech is on Axolotls, did you know that the Axolotl can regenerate its limbs?

Lyrics in Moari

Hi in korimako we had to get some lyrics of a song and change some of the words into maori. we had to use the Maori dictionary to translate the words to maori. I did the song someone you loved. 

Moa

 

This is my post about the moa, the Moa was a large flightless bird that went extinct a long time ago. To make this I used google slides and used the Wikipedia and google to find this information. This is a work in progress. Have you heard about the Moa before? 

Computer parts

 

This is my inquiry slide about computer parts. We had to match the name picture and what it does. I think I did well because I finished and got it right. Do you know what all the computer parts are!

Maths

In Mr. Bells maths we had to do these figure it out activities on fractions. First, we did a fractions sheet on adding fractions then we did these figure it out activities. Do you like to do fractions?

Music

 

In inquiry, Mrs. Akinsons and Mr. Suthurlands group have been making music. We first listened to some music and write down what we felt and we rated the music out of 10. After that, we had to come up with a purpose for our own music we were going to make. And finally, we made our music. We used song maker to make our music it was pretty easy to use. Do you like my music?

Reading Week 3

This week for reading we had to watch a fish video answer the questions to the fish video and pick an activity. I choose the wordle activity which I used word art to make. What did you do for reading? 

Paige Brown

For SOL we choose a young inventor and write about their invention. I did Paige Brown. What inventor did you choose to do?  

Super Moons

For our SOL we did super moons. I wrote about what it is what effects it had and how it is different to normal moons.

How to build a Snowman

Throughout the school holidays, we could do some Winter Learning Journey activities so we would keep up with our learning when we went back to school. I did activity 10 which is to write down the steps on how to make a snowman. This is the way I would make a snowman, how would you make a snowman?

Design your own sport game

Well the year 5's were in cyber smart the year 6's made their own game to play after cross country. We made it in groups and in my group was Lexie, Lucy and Ella. Our game is called bumper cars.

Rejuvenation

For SOL we had to make a slide about rejuvenation. The questions were, what is rejuvenation, and how has the planet rejuvenated. I used this site to get some of my information. Do you think the planet has rejuvenated?

Transformations

For Mr Bells maths we had to make a slide explaining the definitions of the four different transformations. The different transformations are reflection, rotation, translation, and enlargement.

ANZAC word find

At home, I did this ANZAC word find, I think I did well because I found all the words. I found this word find on the Korimako site Afternoon learning tasks. Could you find all the words?

Diveing Giraffes

For home learning, we could watch the diving giraffes video and do a task about it. I did the description task and wrote a description about the giraffe. The video link is this diving giraffes link which is also on the korimako site. Have you written a description about a giraffe before?   

The giraffe had a neck as long as a pole and his legs were so long that his head almost touched the ceiling. He had a yellowy white coat with musty brown spots. He had a short body and a long tail with a tuff of hair at the end. His main was short and lead down the back of his neck to his body. He also had short ears next to these tiny horns. His eyes were big and black and he had a long nose. The giraffe walked very elegantly down the hall with his hooves making a clicking sound as they touched the ground like high heels.

5 R's

Well the year fives were doing cyber smart the year sixes made a 5 Rs slide. We had to write down the meaning for each R and then make an animation for each R. I think that Lucy and I are doing well so far as this is a work in progress. To make this we used google slides. Do you know what all the 5 R's mean?

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire

In Mr Bell's maths, we made a 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire' slide. We had to make questions and put in the answers, to make a probability quiz. To make this I used google slides and I also used this probability site to get ideas for some of my questions. I think I did well because I wrote down all the questions and all the answers. How many questions did you get right?

In korimako the year six's made a top 5 holiday activities slide well the year five's were learning about there Chromebooks. To make this I used google slides. What did you do in your holidays?
